Research and planning- Evaluation

                                                                       Evaluation

1:Are font sizes correct
I think that the font size is correct, and it's appropriate for everyone to see. I don't think its too small or to big, it also just fits correctly on the magazine cover, also on the content page the font is a suitable size because it doesn't take up all the space and its not a huge size, being smaller there is more space available for me to fit more things onto the page like the images. The tittle on both the magazine and content page is a reasonable size, because it stands out on the page and allows people to see what the magazine says and also that the content page is a content page.

2:Does it follow the 3 colour rule
my magazine does follow the three colour rule, as on my magazine cover I have used blue for the background, and a lighter blue for the text- cover lines and yellow for my masthead, also on my contents page I stuck to the yellow but less vibrant and a lighter blue, but I have stuck to the main colours, leaving the background white as I thought it dosnt need to be colored a dark colour, as it wouldn't look very professorial.

3:Can you tell that the cover and contents page are from the same magazine
In my opinion, I think it does, because I have stuck to the same colours in different shades and I have also stuck to a similar font, but changed them a little so it doesn't match the magazine cover on the content page.So overall I think it does look like its from the same magazine.

4:Are the photographs well taken and appropriate
I think the photographs that I have taken are appropriate and they look well, but because on the magazine I was told to use a medium close up, and the shot that I have took here is more of a longer shot, because I had more than the top of the body, because of this I had to cut of the rest of the body, this made my image less perfect, the reason that I dragged the image from the bottom is because it didn't look upto standard, and I wasn't to hppy with it because half of the book and body was cut of so I had to cut it and drag it down so it wasnt visible, which made it look a little bit more better than before.
5:Are there enough stories on the cover and contents page and are they appropriate
I think I have enough stories on my cover and contents page, because I have put a lot of options in there which will help the As and the A2 students in college, which gives them a lot to look at and it should be able to cover all their interest within the college and involve them in the things that are going on within the college and help them like the jobs and applications for university.

Research and planning content page

Here is my final content page, I have used two different colours here, I have used a light yellow on my tittle page, as this is following on from my magazine tittle colour which was a yellow which was more vibrant, but as this Is the content page It dosn't need to be as vibrant as the content page. I have used a light blue like the  one I did for my cover lines on the magazine, but I have used a lighter one as it doesn't need to stand out as much.I have made this on In-Design, which Is a application. The last thing that I have done is added Images

Research and planning college magazine

Here is my final college magazine. I have done this on adobe- Photoshop, I have stuck to a colour scheme of  three colors, the colours that I have used are dark blue for the background of my magazine, I have used yellow for the tittle of my magazine and also for the sign free, which will stand out to the target audience. I have used a lighter blue for the cover lines, because I think it stand out on the dark blue background. I have placed the image in the center of my cover magazine and I have dragged it down so its coming up from the bottom, the reason I have done this is because it looks more neater than it being at the top and having an empty space at the bottom. To cut out the image, I opened it in adobe Photoshop, the tools that I used to cut this out was  the polygonal lasso tool, with this tool I had more control over this tool than I did with the magnetic lasso tool, because this tool went a bit into the image and cut out bits that i didn't want to cut out.

Research and planning contents page and cover draft

Here I have my drafts for my magazine cover and contents page. I have had people look at these and tell me what they think about it. I have used a colour scheme on this, I stuck to 3 colours because it looks simpler than having lots of different colours which in my opinion would make it look like they have too much going
on. I have put the magazine as FREE because I think it is more appropriate as college students don't all have jobs ect and wouldn't like to spend there pocket money on a college magazine, its more appropriate for it to be free so then it can be available to all the students who feel interested in the magazine. I have put 5 cover lines on my magazine draft, because I think its enough for a college magazine and It doesn't need many. On my content page I have added up to 10 things that will interest the students and It gives them information about what they can expect in the magazine, also the images makes it more interesting rather than just the text.

Research and planning interview videos

I have had 3 people to take a look at my draft for the college magazine and they have told me what they think about the magazine. I had a list of 5 questions ready, asking them all and they have answered what they think about it. the answers that I got back from them was they think that it is something that they would pick up as they are interested in what the college has to offer. They also said that they wouldn't pay for this magazine as it is something that they would want free so they can be interested in the magazine, as i think one of them said that they would pay for it. I asked them if they could how would they make the video itself better, within the font? size? layout? ect, but they said everything is normal so they would leave it as it is. I asked them what they would like in the magazine, they said that they would like to have past students results, and information about what is happening in the college and the activities that are up. I also asked them if they though my masthead was appropriate and they said that its okay and the colours are bright and eye catching and something that is attractive for them to pick up.

Reaseach and planning- photo shop challenge

I have done this through making the size of the page A4, I had to change the settings of the paper and I changed it to 500 width and 700 height in order to get the A4 size. The next thing that I did was add text to my page and in the middle of the page, I changed the font to central gothic the way I did this was at the top
Of the page was the font settings and the size and I also changed the font size to 24. The next thing I did was add drop shadow onto the text and I also changed the colour of the text to red the way I did this was through highlighting the text then clicking on the colour icon and selecting the red colour. Next I had to change the background colour the way that I do this was by going onto the right hand side and clicking onto the layers and selecting background, then going into the left hand sidebar and clicking on the colour icon, but the top box and selecting a colour the colour I selected was blue, then I added a picture from the Internet , the way I did this was by going on the Internet and selecting a picture and right clicking it and selecting copy and going back into photo shop and clicking on the background and then going onto the edit tab and clicking onto paste then the image was inserted on to photo shop and I changed the hair colour the way I did this was by clicking onto the paint tool, and then selecting a colour and changing the size of the brushes and then colouring in the hair. The next thing I did was insert a border, the way I did this was by clicking onto the pencil tool and drawing a border.

research and planning- film poster

This is my film poster, i have edited this in photo shop. the way i have done this is through getting another image. The image That i got i opened it in photo shop, I edited the image by cutting the face out, which was the part that I wanted and then, I edited it further by clicking on the magnetic tool which allowed me to select the face shape and cut it along the way. then next thing that I did was drag the image onto the film poster and then i just played about with the cu out until it matched the face shape that I wanted that suited the film poster.

research and planning- shot type research medium close up

I understand that i needed to do a medium close up for my college magazine.

research and planning- college magazine

This is a cover of  college magazine that i have got of the internet. I can tell that this is a real college magazine, because it has the issue number, and when it was "summer 2009" this states that this is a real magazine, and when it was released. from the cover of the magazine I can see that this could be aimed towards the ages of students, from 17-21 the reason being Is, because from the main Image on the magazine cover we can see that the guy himself Is young and this will appeal to this age range. Also the masthead clearly states the tittle college, which implies this magazine is going to be about college. Also the cover lines that are held on this magazine, tells us about the college and activities that you can do while being at college, "make money on campus" will attract the students as its telling them a way to make money and it is something that could interest the students who are studying at the college. It also has a website for the college witch also implies that this is a college magazine and It also gives the students other ways of interacting beside the magazine,

Research and planning- inception film review

This is my film review, which I had found on empire. i had copied and pasted this film review from empire onto a word document, and saved it. the next thing that I had done was open up In-design and then a document page on A4, then I inserted 3 columns the way i had done this was by clicking on layout, then create guides, this helped the text to be  tidy. the next thing that i had done was inserting the text the way I had done this was through clicking onto file, then place then inserting the word document that I had saved earlier. the way I had inserted the text was, through clicking on the little text that came up and making my own text box, this automatically fitted the text in the next columns I had to click on the red icon at the bottom of the text on the 1st column then i had to do the exact same process another 2 times on the columns. The next thing that I had done was insert the image I did this is the same process as including the text, I went onto, file, then place and then I inserted the image and to make the image fit nice on the page, I went to object on the top of the page and then selected fitting and then I selected fit to columns, this made it fit nicely into the column, and didn't leave the image outside my page. the next thing that I did was insert the tittle the way I have done this is through, clicking onto the text box tool, which is located on the left side of the page, and then I drew out myself a text box and inserted the text of the tittle, the next thing I did was change the size, the way I have changed it is by clicking onto the size manager on the top of the page, which let me change it. The next thing i did was change the colour of it the way that I did this was by clicking on the colour changer which is located at the left hand side of the page and then i selected the text and then I clicked onto stroke which is on the right hand side of the page then I changed the weight to 3 and then I clicked on the colour tab which is written next to stroke, then I changed the colour of the border/background that my text was in. then I went onto file then I clicked onto export and saved it to my desktop.

Research and planning - skin tutorial

Here I have made a picture, the way I have achieved this look is through using adobe Photoshop. the first thing that I did was make her skin look better the way in which I did this was through removing her spots first of all. the tool that I used to make her spots disappear was the spot remover tool, this helped me to get rid of the blemishes, all I did was click on the size of the brush and then click on her spots and it would automatically get rid of them. the next step that I did was click on layer and then blur and then smart blur, through doing this is made the image look really blurred and also made it look cartoon-ish. the next thing that I did was change the opacity to 45% through doing this I achieved the look of the image to become more realistic and transparent, leaving her skin look more  radiant and fresh. the next step I went onto was doing her hair, the way i have done this step is through, clicking on the brush tool, and changing the size of the brush each time I went onto a bigger or smaller part of her hair, I went onto the color palette om the right hand side and selected a colour that I wanted and I also did the same with the lip and the eyes and the cheeks, I also used the zooming in and out tool which is located on the let hand side at the bottom and and the top to zoom in or out, I did this through the whole process to achieve the look.

research and Planning CD tutorial

This is my CD cover, which I have made on the Photoshop app. the way in which I have done this is by selecting different images onto a background and using different tools to get the finished look, which I have achieved. The first thing that I did was select the background which I then left the tab open and went onto the image of the CD and then I went onto the tool that is called the "elliptical marquee tool" I selected this tool and then I held down shift and dragged the mouse carefully around the shape of the CD which allowed me to cut out the background of the CD, witch then left me with the template of the CD. I then dragged the image of the CD to the background and placed it where I wanted it, by clicking on another tool which was the "move tool" this tool helped me to move the CD image to were I wanted it also it allowed me to rotate the image to any angle that suited me. The I went onto clicking on the image of the CD and going to the top of the screen which then I had clicked onto the image tab, and went onto clicking "c balance"
